Advanced / Configuration Setup / Namelist Variables
This section provides a summary of the SETUP.CFG namelist file parameters
required in configuring the model to perform certain specialized calculations. The
default value is shown in bold with each variable and a link to the User's
Guide page with a more detailed discussion of the options. The namelist options that
only affect trajectories are shown in italics.
- CAPEMIN=-1 -1 no convection; -2 Grell convection scheme; -3 extreme convection; >0 enhanced vertical mixing when CAPE exceeds this value (J/kg)
- AREA=0 set emission area shape square (0) or circle (1)
- CMASS=0 compute grid concentrations (0) or grid mass (1)
- CMTFN=' ' center-of-mass trajectory output file name
- CONAGE=24 particle to or from puff conversions at conage (hours)
- CPACK=1 binary concentration packing 0:none 1:nonzero 2:points 3:polar
- DELT=0.0 integration time step (0=autoset GT-0=constant LT-0=minimum)
- DXF=1.0 horizontal X-grid adjustment factor for ensemble
- DYF=1.0 horizontal Y-grid adjustment factor for ensemble
- DZF=0.01 vertical (0.01 ~ 250m) factor for ensemble
- EFILE=' ' temporal emission file name
- FRHMAX=3.0 maximum value for the horizontal rounding parameter

- SEED=-1 set the seed for the random number generator. (v988 and higher)
- SPLITF=1.0 automatic size adjustment (<0=disable) factor for horizontal splitting
- TERRFLG=0 If terrain not available in meteological file estimate from surface pressure (0) or terrain.asc file (1).
- TFMT=1 trajectory dump format (use 1 or 2). Format 2 writes more digits below the decimal point for trajectory diagnostic outputs.
- TKERD=0.18 unstable turbulent kinetic energy ratio = w'2/(u'2+v'2)
- TKERN=0.18 stable turbulent kinetic energy ratio
- TLFRAC=0.1 The fraction of the Lagrangian vertical time scale used to calculate the dispersion time step in the STILT dispersion scheme.
