Advanced / Configuration Setup / Concentration

This section provides some guidance in configuring the model input to perform certain specialized calculations. The default configuration supplied with the test meteorological data is confined to a simple dispersion calculation. More complex scenarios can be configured through the Advanced / Configuration / Concentration Setup menu tab. The menu is used to modify the SETUP.CFG namelist file. This file is not required, and if not present in the root startup directory, default values are used. These parameters can all be changed without recompilation by modification of the contents of SETUP.CFG and in some cases their modification will substantially change the nature of the simulation. The configuration file should be present in the root directory. An illustration of the upper-level menu is shown below.

When using the GUI, the namelist file will be deleted and all variables are returned to their default value by selecting the "Reset" button. The following summarizes the namelist variables and their corresponding section in the GUI menu. Not all variables can be set through the menu system but may be modified by directly editing the namelist file.

  1. Set fixed or automatic TIME STEPS
  2. Define subgrid and MSL/AGL UNITS
  3. Configure release of PARTICLES or PUFFS
  4. Set the particle/puff RELEASE NUMBER limits
  5. Set the puff SPLIT-MERGE parameters
  6. Define EMISSION CYCLING or input file
  7. Configure the TURBULENCE method
  8. Concentration GRID PACKING method
  9. Input and output PARTICLE FILES
  10. In-line chemical CONVERSION MODULES
  11. Meteorological grid offset ENSEMBLE
  12. Output CENTER-OF-MASS trajectory
  13. WRF vertical interpolation
  14. Summary of all NAMELIST variable defaults
