...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT NORTHEASTERN NASH AND CENTRAL
HALIFAX COUNTIES UNTIL 515 PM EDT...

At 412 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 13
miles north of Dortches, or 15 miles north of Nashville, moving east
at 15 mph.

Dime size hail and wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph will be possible with
this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Enfield, Glenview, Tillery, Aventon and Medoc Mountain State Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Seek shelter in a nearby building or vehicle. Wind gusts as high as
50 mph are capable of knocking down small or weakened trees and
blowing around trash cans, potted plants, lawn furniture and other
light outdoor objects.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

At 413 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Littleton, or
11 miles southwest of Roanoke Rapids, moving northeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
         roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Roanoke Rapids, Halifax, Littleton, Weldon, Medoc Mountain State
Park, South Weldon, Airlie, Roanoke Rapids Lake, Rosemary and Lake
Gaston.
