At 740 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Fordland, or 15
miles northwest of Ava, moving east at 25 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Fordland, Diggins, and Dogwood.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A tornado watch remains in effect for the warned area. Tornadoes can
develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Although a tornado is not
immediately likely, if one is spotted act quickly and move to a place
of safety inside a sturdy structure, such as a basement or small
interior room.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

An NWS survey team concluded that a tornado
developed just east of Sparta and moved to
the northeast. A wide tract of uprooted
trees and large tree limbs fell in a
cyclonic pattern spanning the path, where a
tornado debris signature was observed on
radar. A mobile home and a single-family
home were found to be damaged.

A tornado touched down in far western
Douglas county around 8:53 pm the evening of
Sunday June 7th, initially causing EF0
damage in the form of downed branches and
minor impacts to outbuildings. As it
progressed along county road 542, it
strengthened to an EF1, uprooting mature
trees and breaking smaller tree trunks. It
also hit a manufactured home, pushing it
several feet and causing structural damage.
The detectable damage path ends on the east
side of county road AK-541. Future satellite
analysis may supplement this survey.

A tornado caused EF1 damage about a mile and
a half southeast of Tigris near county road
531 and Highway 14. The most notable damage
was to a farm outbuilding, where the roof
was uplifted and tossed, walls collapsed
both inward and outward, and building
materials were thrown. Extensive tree damage
was also noted, including uprooted mature
trees.
