At 300 PM MST scattered showers and thunderstorms continue to develop in portions of Hidalgo and Luna counties. Rainfall amounts are generally light, but from the strongest cells radar estimates up to a quarter inch of rain. Most of the rain is falling in the New Mexico Bootheel area, and along Highway 9 between Animas and Columbus. Small hail and wind gusts up to 30 mph are possible too.
