.DISCUSSION...
A complex of showers and thunderstorms is expected to move through
parts of southeast Nebraska this morning with widely scattered
showers and thunderstorms possible elsewhere today. Under cloudy
skies, temperatures will warm into the low to mid 60s this
afternoon with minimum relative humidity values of 45 to 65
percent. Winds will strengthen from the southeast today with
sustained speeds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 30 to 35 mph.
Showers and thunderstorms will become widespread across the area
tonight into Saturday morning with wetting rainfall expected for
many. Another round of thunderstorms is expected to develop Friday
afternoon and evening when some severe weather appears likely.
The strong southeast winds will continue tonight and Friday as a
vigorous low pressure system approaches the region from the
southwest. Highs on Friday will range from 60s in northeast
Nebraska to lower 80s in far southeast Nebraska. Minimum relative
humidities will range from around 45 percent along the Kansas
border to around 70 percent in northeast Nebraska and southwest
Iowa.
