The following is a brief description of the HYSPLIT updates and new features added since the last release. Note that only a few sections are affected by the update and older HYSPLIT versions will still work and give the same results, for the most part, with the contents of this tutorial.

Meteorology

  • Added meteorological data converters: CESM and DRN2ARL
  • Default to WRF vertical interpolation scheme if input data are compatible
  • Now compatible with mass-consistent meteorology: profile, contour, display, and xtrct_stn

Trajectories

  • Added option to add insect speed vector to trajectory calculations

Air Concentrations

  • Additional particle random number options through KRAND

Special Simulations

  • New Sofiev et al. plume rise algorithm

Display Options

  • Option to write concentration contours to a file
  • Updated python dependencies, graphics, and packages

Internal

  • Memory allocation corrections in multiple programs
